Because up to 4.180 € depends on it. From care level 1 upwards the care insurance fund pays a grant towards home adaptations (§ 40 Abs. 4 SGB XI) – per eligible person in the household. In our worked example that brings the amount you pay down from 5.900 € to about 1.634 €. The answer is optional and is used only to check the grant. It goes to the firms preparing your quote – never into our analytics.
On a straight staircase often within days – the installation itself takes two to four hours. On a curved staircase the rail has to be made to measure first, so allow four to eight weeks for delivery. One thing matters: do not order until the application to the care insurance fund has been filed.
Yes, with the landlord's consent. The rail is fixed to the steps, not to the wall, so the installation can be reversed. Where the need arises from a disability, the landlord may withhold consent only for good cause (§ 554 BGB), but may ask for a deposit against removal.
