You normally hear back within 24 hours. A firm fixed-price quote follows the free on-site visit, usually within one to two weeks.
It comes down to three parts: 30 % basic funding for any eligible heat pump, a 16 % speed bonus for replacing a fossil-fuel system at least 20 years old, and an income-based bonus of 40 % (up to €30,000), 30 % (up to €40,000) or 10 % (up to €50,000 taxable household income). After your enquiry an adviser works out the rate you will actually get – up to the maximum of 80 %, which on a 21.000 € system leaves you paying from about 4.200 €. The questionnaire itself does not ask about your income; only the adviser and the KfW need that.
